NAHS
The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is a prestigious program designed specifically for high school students in grades 9-12.
Established in 1978 by the National Art Education Association, NAHS aims to inspire and recognize students who demonstrate exceptional talent and a deep interest in the visual arts. Through this program, members are encouraged to pursue excellence in art scholarship, character, and community service, fostering a rich appreciation for art education within their schools and local communities.
By celebrating artistic achievement and promoting artistic endeavors, NAHS not only nurtures individual creativity but also highlights the importance of the arts in enriching society as a whole. NJAHS
The National Junior Art Honor Society (NJAHS) is a prestigious organization designed for middle and junior high school students in grades 6-8.
Established in 1989 by the National Art Education Association, the NJAHS aims to inspire and recognize students who demonstrate exceptional talent and passion for the arts. Through this program, students not only receive acknowledgment for their artistic skills but also cultivate a deeper interest in art, which can carry over into their high school years and beyond.
Inducted students are encouraged to continue their artistic journey by seeking nomination for the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) when they reach the appropriate grade level. The NJAHS fosters a supportive community of young artists, helping to nurture their creativity and commitment to the arts during these formative years.
